COMMON FENCE INSTALLATION STYLES
We Do It All Construction has been constructing fences for residential and commercial clients for more than 20 years. We have catered to various design requests by clients but here are some basic designs that we start off with.
Fence installation styles
Board on Board Fence
As the name suggests, this style has boards overlapping each other in an alternating pattern.
Advantages
The overlap between boards create a stronger support for the fence panels.
disadvantages
Uses more materials which may lead to an increase in the overall project cost.

Good Neighbor Fence
A good neighbor fence has fence pickets installed on both sides, showing no visible fence rail, to give both neighbors a clean finished look on either side of the fence. Hence, why it’s called a “good” neighbor fence. This style is often applied to properties with a shared fence line.
disadvantages
Upkeep efforts must be in tune with the neighbor’s to ensure a prolonged lifespan of the fence
Advantages
Both sides of the fence have a clean, finished look.

Bad Neighbor Fence
Fence pickets are installed on one side of the fence which means the other side will show the rails and may not be finished as well. Typically, clients will choose to paint/stain only the side of the fence that faces their property.
advantages
Most cost effective fence style as materials used are maximized.
disadvantages
May need prior discussions with neighbor to let them know about the finished layout.
